Happy pride everyone!

Today turned out much different than I planned. Last night we spent a few moments attaching our flags to our poles for the Pride parade in NYC. Yes, we were looking forward to it. When I woke up this morning I turned on the TV and checked on the weather. The vapid annoying blond news girl said there's a chance of rain, detailed forecast to come in ten minutes. We have marched in the rain before, that is not a problem but when the queen of vapid came on she told a grim tale of sixty to seventy mile an hour winds, horrific thunder storms and golf ball sized hail. This sounds bad. I checked out the weather channel and all the weather media was saying to be careful if you are going out today. I ended up sitting up wondering what to do. I don't mind rain and I got a lot of my Queer pride but I don't want to be marching on 5th avenue with seventy mile an hour winds. I also needed to take other things into consideration. Slave barbs broken toe, that walk will be hard on her, though she's tough and ready to roll. There's also a presentation that needs to be finished by this Wednesday because we are presenting it next Sunday. I made up my mind, for the first time in a long time we are not marching in the parade. FUCK. I feel like I made the right choice but I feel terrible about it. I'm a big advocate for getting out and being proud of who you are and now I have decided to stay home.

Alternative plans. I went to the store to buy a new wallet. I'm still using the crappy spare one that I have because my nice wallet got stolen. Then we went to Home Depot and picked up parts to finish the cabinet project. When we got back home we (f course) finished the cabinet project. We also took the time to finish the presentations on Rituals. While working on the presentation we checked out the live cam on fifth Ave. that was showing the parade. The storms were down right dangerous! Balloons falling over in dangerous winds, the camera was swaying and there were not many people on the streets due to the storm. Meanwhile the weather here was fine. I guess I made the right choice.

After we finished the presentation work I took on some alone time. I sat in the yard and smoked a pipe and wrestled with a few demons and mustered up some much needed self confidence about some stuff.

It was tough internal work but in the end I believe it was well worth it. I only hope I'm not letting myself down. Hey slave barb, get the broom to pick up my pieces please?

Tonight we are going to watch Trans America and prepare for what will be an interesting week. Monday and Tuesday will just be regular days but Wednesday is slave barb's Biopsy ( I have a half day from work so I can go wit her) and Thursday I have a half day from work just because I deserve it and the the July 4th weekend is Tes Fest. I'm looking very forward to that event for many different reasons.

Fun, sex, play, presentations and more sex and play........I hope!
